Summary

The Biodiversa+ 2025-2026 Joint Call "BiodivConnect" (Restoration of ecosystem functioning, integrity and connectivity) is a pan-European collaborative research funding program. Innovation Fund Denmark offers co-funding for Danish participants. The call focuses on three research topics: setting restoration targets and measuring success, transferability and scaling of nature restoration efforts, and resilience and sustainability of restoration efforts. Danish universities, companies, local/regional authorities, research organisations and NGOs are eligible to apply through Innovation Fund Denmark. Each Danish partner can receive up to €300,000, with a maximum of €500,000 for all Danish partners combined and a minimum of €50,000. Funding rates vary between 25-90% of project costs depending on the type of organization and activity. The call launches in September 2025 with a two-stage application process: pre-proposals due in early November 2025 and full proposals due in early April 2026. Funding recommendations are expected in autumn 2026, with projects starting between December 2026 and April 2027. As a Biodiversa+ joint call, projects must involve international consortia with partners from multiple participating countries.
