Summary
BlueActionBANOS is an EU-funded project coordinated by the SUBMARINER Network that supports sustainable transitions for Baltic and North Sea blue communities. It has launched two open calls under the EU Mission "Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030": Community-Led Actions (CLA) grants of €200,000 to €2 million for implementation-ready projects, and Transition Agendas (TA) grants of up to €100,000 for strategic regional planning. The Community-Led Actions call targets consortia of 2-12 entities proposing impactful solutions in pollution reduction, ecosystem restoration, or circular blue economy. The Transition Agendas call supports individual entities or small consortia (up to 3 partners) developing multi-year strategic roadmaps for sustainable shifts such as decarbonising coastal zones, circular blue economy, sustainable blue tourism, ecosystem-based fisheries management, marine restoration, climate adaptation, and plastic/nutrient pollution reduction. Eligible applicants include NGOs, local authorities, research organizations, SMEs, cooperatives, and other legal entities based in BANOS countries (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Sweden). The two-step application process requires submission of a mandatory Project Idea Form by 16 March 2026, followed by individual expert consultation and full proposal submission by 29 May 2026. Beyond funding, selected projects receive ongoing operational support and tailored technical assistance.
