Historical Context
GlobalSeaweedSTAR was the predecessor programme (2017–2022), funded by UKRI, which directly funded 15 research projects across the globe including in the Philippines, Tanzania, and Madagascar. GlobalSeaweed-SUPERSTAR is the successor programme running from December 2023 to November 2026, funded by the Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC). The programme is based at SAMS (Scottish Association for Marine Science) in Oban, Scotland.
