Eligibility

• Must align with one of Porticus's six priority areas: Earth, Education, Faith, Society, Argidius, or Community Arts Lab

Project Scope

• Organization must demonstrate potential for systems change, not just isolated project outcomes
• Projects should demonstrate inclusive, participatory approaches that address power imbalances

Constraints

• Porticus does NOT accept unsolicited grant applications — all partnerships are initiated by Porticus
• Partners are expected to co-design programs with Porticus and participate in monitoring, evaluation, and learning cycles
• Grant structure is tailored per project — can be multi-year or one-time

Historical Context

Porticus was established in 1995 to coordinate the philanthropic activities of the Brenninkmeijer family (C&A retail chain owners since 1841). It operates as part of Constanter, a charitable foundation, and manages grants from four family foundations: Clementia Verein, Stichting Benevolentia, Stiftung Auxilium, and Good Energies Foundation.
