BlueInvest Africa 2026 is the fourth edition of the European Union's flagship dealmaking forum for Africa's blue economy, organized by the European Commission in partnership with the Government of South Africa. The event takes place November 2-3, 2026 at the Avenue Conference and Event Venue in Cape Town. It invites African startups and SMMEs with innovative, scalable products or services delivering measurable ocean and coastal impact to pitch before international investors. Since its launch in 2022, BlueInvest Africa has supported over 80 innovative startups selected from more than 700 applications and connected them with 40+ investors committed to ocean impact across Africa. The 2026 edition received hundreds of applications from 38 African countries. Up to 30 finalists are selected to pitch on stage, based on evaluation criteria including impact potential, innovation level, business model viability, and team strength. Selected participants receive personalized pitch coaching, structured networking with public and private funders, one-on-one mentoring, access to a matchmaking platform with investors, supplementary financing workshops, direct engagement with development banks, and media promotion. The program does not provide direct grants but facilitates investment connections. Qualifying sectors include sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, blue tech and marine renewable energy, maritime transport and logistics, coastal and marine tourism, circular economy, pollution reduction, ocean data and technology.
