Summary
The Pernod Ricard India Foundation (PRIF) runs the Prakriti Incubation Launchpad, an annual programme supporting early-stage Indian startups working on circular economy, waste management, and sustainable development challenges. The programme is implemented in partnership with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) and other leading academic institutions. In the 2025-2026 cohort focusing on North-East India, 36 ventures were shortlisted and 12 were selected through a jury process. The top 6 startups received grants totalling INR 70 lakh, along with buyer-seller connections and ecosystem partnerships. Selected ventures collectively employed 295 people including 185 women. Beyond the incubation programme, PRIF has also launched the Eco Empower project in partnership with the TSL Foundation focusing on waste circularity and support for informal waste workers in Faridabad. The foundation partners with NSRCEL (IIM Bangalore) and SIIC (IIT Kanpur) for additional programmes. The programme targets Indian startups and entrepreneurs and is not designed for international NGOs to apply directly. However, Indian partner organizations or Indian entities of international NGOs may be eligible.
Historical Context
Programme has collectively supported more than 75 startups, diverted over 5.5 lakh kilograms of waste, and enabled 400+ sustainable livelihoods. Annual cycle since approximately 2022.
