Summary
HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-04 funds demonstration and deployment of innovative collection, sorting-for-reuse and repair systems for textiles at city or regional level. The call is part of Horizon Europe Cluster 6 Call 01 for 2026, under the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy (CIRCBIO) work programme. It responds to the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the EU Textile Strategy, and the Circular Economy Act requirements for separate textile collection. The call objectives include: piloting city/region-wide textile collection systems with high capture rates; demonstrating sorting-for-reuse infrastructure that distinguishes reusable from recyclable textiles; scaling up repair and reuse models engaging social enterprises and local authorities; developing business models for circular textile systems; and creating replicable frameworks for other cities and regions to adopt. Eligible activities include: municipal collection system design and piloting; digital tools for tracking textile flows; social enterprise partnerships for sorting and repair; life cycle assessment of textile circularity; citizen engagement and behaviour change; policy recommendations based on pilots; and dissemination of replicable models. The call aims to engage citizens, social enterprises, local authorities, and manufacturers. Eligible applicants include research organisations, universities, SMEs, large companies, local authorities, and NGOs forming consortia of at least 3 entities from 3 different EU/Associated Countries. Innovation Actions receive 70% EU co-funding (100% for non-profit entities). Total budget EUR 10 million for approximately 2 projects (~EUR 5M each). Deadline 17 September 2026.
