Summary
The Veolia Foundation is the corporate foundation of Veolia Group, the world's leading environmental services company. The Foundation supports non-profit projects of general interest across three thematic pillars: humanitarian emergencies and development aid (access to water, sanitation, and waste management in developing countries), environmental conservation and biodiversity (water resource protection), and social inclusion through work (job creation linked to Veolia's business areas). The Foundation funds capital expenditure in the range of EUR 10,000 to EUR 80,000, with its contribution not exceeding 66% of total project cost and not falling below 10%. A minority share of training costs may also be accepted if it contributes to project sustainability. One-off events and projects without quantified, replicable objectives are excluded. A critical eligibility requirement is that every application must be submitted and sponsored by a Veolia employee (one of 218,000 globally). The employee sponsor serves as the bridge between the non-profit partner and the Foundation, assessing feasibility, guiding the applicant through the process, and monitoring implementation. The Foundation strongly prioritizes projects that can also receive skills-based volunteering from Veolia employees through its VeoliaForce program. Geographic priorities include Europe, Africa and the Middle East (Morocco, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal), Asia Pacific (China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, India), and the Americas (USA, Brazil, Colombia, Chile). Projects must demonstrate sustainability and replicability, and must define clear, quantified objectives with measurable outcomes. Applications may be submitted at any time, but are reviewed by the Selection Committee or Board of Directors in quarterly governance meetings. The process is rolling but structured around quarterly review cycles.
