Summary

The EEA Civil Society Fund Hungary Organisational Grants programme aims to strengthen the strategic capacity of Hungarian civil society organisations (CSOs) by providing multi-year, non-restricted organisational grants. The programme focuses on organisations that play pivotal roles in building, expanding, and sustaining civil society networks and platforms at regional or national level in Hungary, or that accumulate and distribute know-how related to the programme's priority areas. Thematically, the programme targets CSOs active in one or more priority areas of the EEA Civil Society Fund Hungary, which broadly encompass civic engagement, human rights, democratic values, rule of law, and civil society resilience. Eligible activities include implementation of strategic development plans, capacity-building, professional skills development, network expansion, and international partnership activities. Geographically, the programme is exclusively focused on Hungary. Only organisations registered in Hungary are eligible to apply, and all activities must serve Hungarian civil society. Eligible applicants are non-profit associations and foundations registered in Hungary for at least four years before the call deadline. Applicants must demonstrate financial stability, with an average annual turnover over the past four financial years at least equal to the annualised value of the requested grant. Partnerships are not mandatory but are supported. Grant amounts range from €100,000 to €200,000, with a total call budget of €5,000,000. The project duration is between 24 and 54 months. The entire grant amount may be used for capacity building purposes. Applications are submitted via the online portal and must comply with the EEA Civil Society Fund guidelines.
