Summary
EIT Jumpstarter 2026 is a 7-month pre-acceleration programme run by EIT Climate-KIC on behalf of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The programme is designed to help early-stage innovators transform science-based ideas into viable startups through structured entrepreneurial training, mentoring, and a culminating international pitch competition. The programme targets individuals and teams from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe with early-stage ideas in thematic areas including Healthcare, Food and Agritech, Raw Materials (metals, minerals, industrial side streams), Energy and Renewables, Advanced and Green Manufacturing, Smart Cities and Mobility, and a thematic-agnostic category for Maltese innovators. Participants do not need an existing company — only a strong idea and the motivation to explore its market potential. Selected teams receive coaching to develop entrepreneurial and business skills, validate their idea and market need, and access high-quality mentoring and peer-learning networks across the EIT Community. The most promising teams receive financial support during the programme; finalists in each category can compete for prizes of up to EUR 10,000 to advance their development. The programme concludes with teams expected to be ready for company formation and eligible to progress to advanced accelerators within the EIT ecosystem. Applications are submitted via myeitfood.eu by 8 May 2026. The programme is initiated by the EIT and delivered by Climate-KIC, a non-profit foundation registered in the Netherlands focused on climate innovation.
