Consortium with implementing organisations from partner ODA countries is mandatory

Eligible focus areas: sustainable production, circular design, integrated waste management, capacity exchange, waste information systems, or social transformation

Decolonial project concept demonstrating meaningful stakeholder participation required

Constraints

Project duration maximum four years
Funding range: EUR 1 million to EUR 6 million per project
Projects must implement ZUG Safeguards Policy and Independent Complaint Mechanism

Historical Context

The ZUG Grant Programme against Marine Litter is a recurring German Federal Environment Ministry programme. The 2025 call was the latest round, focused on marine litter prevention projects in ODA countries. The programme has previously funded multiple rounds, with funded projects visible on the ZUG website.
